Lockheed Martin is Entrusted with the Pentagon’s Top Weapons Program
The world's largest defense contractor builds the U.S. military's most important aircraft and missiles. Though it grew through live players, it is now a dead player directed by the Pentagon.
Lockheed Martin Corporation is the world's largest defense contractor by revenue, earning $68 billion in 2023, of which 96% was related to defense contracts.1 The company derived 73% of its sales from the United States; the rest came from foreign purchases. Of all revenue, 64% came from contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), with other significant customers being NASA and the U.S. Department of Energy, the bureaucracy primarily responsible for nuclear weapons. Lockheed Martin has 122,000 employees, of whom 65,000 are engineers, scientists, and information technology professionals.2
